Our client is an innovative company who specialise in advanced engineering, electronics and software systems for pioneering electric underwater technology.


Job Purpose:

To inspect incoming mechanical piece parts to ensure quality of parts against SSL engineering drawings and standards.


Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

- To assist the QA Manager to ensure quality of product for production use.

- Ensure the correct use of mechanical measuring equipment and train others in its use.

- To ensure non-conforming product is prevented from use as far as possible.

- To record inspection findings and produce analysis of findings as directed by the QA Manager.

- Control the return of items that are found non-conforming to the supplier for rework or replacement in collaboration with the purchasing department.

- To liaise with engineering and purchasing departments to resolve quality control issues.

- To assist other departments with technical/measurement issues.

- To be the first point of contact for mechanical part supplier and control.

- To ensure inspection activities are conducted at the first opportunity after receipt of goods.

- To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their Head of Unit from time to time.

- To use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day to day activities and procedures within the specified role.

- To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information & Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role.

- To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times.

- To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with team members and other departments in order to deliver business and delivery objectives or deadlines.

- To keep good time management to minimise any wasted time and maximise productivity and effectiveness
