Gerrell & Hard Ltd are proud to be working in partnership with Ansible Motion Ltd located in Norwich. They design, manufacture, supply and maintain the world’s leading Driver-in-the-Loop simulators to top automotive OEMs worldwide. 


Their award winning advanced simulators are in daily use by engineers around the globe to design and develop vehicle dynamics, associated subsystems and assistive technologies for high prestige projects in road car and motorsport applications. 


As the Applications Engineer you will be the bridge between customers and engineering teams, providing technical support and expertise to our customers, both on-site (in the Far East, North America and Europe) and from their site in Norwich. 


Extensive travel will be required for this position, and therefore you must be eligible to live and work in the UK with no barriers to international travel. You must hold a full driving licence.


You will diagnose issues with integrated simulator systems and components, respond to customer feedback, liaise with design and development staff, and organise service and maintenance visits. Travel is required for service, upgrade and installation purposes. The role offers the chance to work with customers around the world in some of the most exciting leading edge automotive applications.



- Degree qualification in an engineering or scientific discipline.

- Experience of working in a similar customer support role.

- Able to understand and communicate issues clearly to both our customers and engineering team.

- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, electronic and software domains.

- Clear and concise visit and issue report writing and good record keeping.

- Long and short haul travel to our customer sites on a regular basis.

- Good fault tracing ability from observable evidence to diagnose complex systems. 

- Some appreciation of practical electronic engineering e.g. circuit tracing, basic wiring. 



- Experience in practical instrumentation and measurement.

- Use and diagnostics of CAN-based or other serial bus systems.

- Experience in instrumentation and measurement.

- Quantitative analysis of data.

- Project management and scheduling.

- Automotive engineering background.
